A Necessary Extension
So, two points here to be made. To make it short, I will be spinning the wheel-again for March, but it will be a dual-month sorta deal.
To go into a bit more detail, for those who are interested, February has been a bit of a chaotic month to say the least. I remember when I was making the wheel, I remember thinking to myself, "gee I sure hope that February, the shortest month, doesn't land on a bigger franchise." And it sure did, with arguably my biggest one since I've already given what-for to both Pokemon and Digimon. But I decided to go for it anyhow. Gotta be honest about it. Otherwise, what's the point of a random subject?
But anyway, right from the outset things have been going just stupid. I started out February sick, so I got a bit of a slow start on that one. Slow start on a shorter month, no less. Only three days at most, but every day counts when I have a quota. I don't exactly fart these things out. XP
Secondly, life itself has been very rough lately. Did you know that moving absolutely sucks? Yeah, really! But it wasn't my house, it was my family's business, which I'm a part of. Moving house is sucky enough, but moving a business, that's hard mode. Cuz you can't take your time with a business, neither before or after. You can't just shut down for a week to pack up, so we gotta pack it up as soon as we close down for the weekend, move all the crap over to another building, and then unpack it all again and re-organize a shop in a new building, all in the course of a weekend just to open back up again on Monday. The grind is very real. ^^; But then that's not all of it, cuz we had to get rid of a lot of stuff since we were downsizing. Some of it, we had to move to mom's basement. Some, to charity. Had to sort through a lot of my childhood belongings that I'd been storing in the warehouse after I moved out on my own, decide what to keep and what to donate. Moving furniture, selling furniture, getting rid of all the stuff we'd been storing in the warehouse. I know it doesn't sound like much on paper. It sure didn't look like much either. But between running the shop and sorting our stuff, this whole affair has taken us all nearly two weeks to do. It's been a full on stress-test. There's been yelling and arguing and pulled muscles and a smashed toenail, as well as stress-induced sickness all around. I've worked very long days, and even on nights I was awake enough to draw, actually doing it was a chore, and motivation quickly became a problem.
But, now we are free of that cursed building. And I mean cursed in the most severe way, barring the supernatural. (Although...) The place was unsafe at night, homeless people wandering back and forth talking to themselves and jiggling the door handle sometimes, I've had a charger stolen from my car, and worst of all the building cost my parents their house. They had to sell it just to keep paying rent on the warehouse. And even the landlord has had substantial trouble with the building. It literally took her 18 months to find someone else to buy out our lease contract. So we've all kinda been in financial limbo for the past two years. But now it is behind us, we can all finally get our lives back in order. Way less rent on the business means more inventory, which means more work for me. And mom can finally get some major closure, which I'm very happy for. That's most important to me here, I've been surviving enough.
Alrighty, that was my sob story of the month, so what now? Well, I'm going to finish up the month with one or two more monsters as best I can. I've got one already almost ready to post, I just need to find inspiration for the other. Then, in the month of March, I'll work on part 2 of Yu-Gi-Oh month. I did the monsters in February, and I'll do the humans in March.
But, I'm still going to spin the wheel anyway, and juggle a bit now that I have ample time again. But, this time I'll at least have some mercy on myself. I'll limit the March wheel to franchises with no more than three characters I wanna tickle. That way I can juggle Yu-Gi-Oh and whatever March becomes without overextending myself. So for now, see ya later, and I hope you understand where I'm coming from with all this. If not, theeeeen uhhh, sorry.
