One of these days I'm gonna hafta srsly watch this show.
It was one of those 90s anime that enticed me all throughout puberty but when I finally had the means to watch, just didn't have the time or prior enthusiasm (Naga was the big draw for me back then)

Yeah I saw the first movie in high school and then I actually watched the show in college, so I get what your saying. I watched the first season on Hulu years ago and liked it so I bout all the seasons on DVD after that
I personally think that the dub of Slayers improves allot in the second half of season 1. I dunno what happened behind the scene but at like the half way point every one but Lina and Gourry are recast and I feel the show was much better for it.
One thing that might bum you out is that Naga isn't in the show, just the movies. Naga and Amelia are sisters but it's some gag that they are never seen together and I don't think they ever say each others names so Lina and the others don't know that they are sisters
