Crystallization of Aura was an extremely rare thing among Bonded Jackals. Even more rare was being able to turn the Aura that was naturally emanating from their body into solid crystals. This process would encase the jackal in pure crystal. It is seen as either a defense mechanism, or for self preservation.
When Luca was taken from Siber and kept prisoner in the ruined city of Io, she was constantly poked and prodded at. Her power was examined and tested. The blue jackal was quick to activate this self-preservation system.
She encased herself in her own crystallized Aura, making it nearly impossible for anyone to get to her.
Although she was trapped by her own will, she still had consciousness. She was aware of everything that went on around her.
All Luca needed to do now was to wait.
Wait for her best friend and closest partner to save her.
