Not an accident, there were no injuries.

I was finally aligning my pulsed holography apparatus, to see if the additional amplifier would improve things, and on the last test shot one of my trigger transformers exploded. It made quite the bang, and the magic smoke escaped. I was probably exceeding the voltage rating of the insulation on the secondary...

Just as I was getting somewhere... :-P

The next theory is to pot the transformers in epoxy (in a vacuum chamber, to avoid bubbles). I'm not absolutely sure that will fix the problem though.

In other news, my holography panel at Furthemore has been approved. You should show up with something interesting about the size of your fist saturday evening, and we can try to make a hologram of it. (not with this laser.)
