It was just another day in the city, Dean woke up to the sound of his phone's alarm which was currently set to Billy Idols Rebel Yell. His hand grabs at his bedside table until he finds the phone, pressing the dismiss button without even opening an eye. He turns on his side and stretches, regretting that he laid on his tail last night. He finally opens his eyes just a bit, squinting from the sunlight that came through the shutters on his windows.
“Fuckin’ sun…” He grumbles as he rubs the grogginess out of his eyes, making himself comfortable in his blankets as he turns on his phone to check out what he’s missed since last night. He scrolls through his dashboard, making sure to like all the pictures of his favorite stars and his best friends. He finds his eyes widening at a particular pic of an actor, a grin spreading across his lips as he runs his tongue along his front teeth.
“Well hello there.” He holds down on the picture and saves it for later, going back to scrolling before he checks to see if any of his recent posts have gotten any attention. He’s glad to see some of his pics gaining attention, it just made him feel better to know that other people found happiness in what he did.
He swings his legs over the bed, scratching his neck before he heads to the bathroom to brush out his fur. “Stupid thick neck fur… Tangling ever five seconds.” He grumbles as he combs it straight or at least as straight as it can be. He liked brushing before a shower because dealing with wet tangled fur was the worst.
Dean turns on his bluetooth speaker before he steps into the shower, enjoying the feeling of the warm running water as he uses his fruit scented shampoo, humming along to the music that played. When he steps out he flicks his hands to get the water to fly off before he grabs a towel, rubbing himself down to dry. He goes over to the mirror to inspect himself, his fur sticking everywhere like he just got pulled off the streets. He makes an angry face and poses to make himself look more intimidating, glad he had the muscle to do that despite how lean he was.
Have had enough fun, he blow dries himself until he is feeling nice and soft, brushing his teeth to make them pearly white before he puts some of his piercings in. He wears a few loop earrings on one ear, deciding to go with just that for now. Dean the rummages through his drawers, pulling a Legend of Zelda shirt on, one of his favorites, as well as a pair of torn jeans and a black sweatshirt. It was a bit chilly out but could get warmer so at least he could take this off if he got hot.
Dean walks over to the kitchen, bringing his speaker with him. He sets it on the counter as he gets out some bacon and eggs, cooking them up to put in between a pair of waffles with a slice of cheese, making himself a nice breakfast sandwich.
He turns off his speaker to watch some videos on his phone while he eats, drinking some strawberry milk with it. He texts a few of his friends, wondering if they wanted to hang out since he’s free today. He originally had a one to nine shift but they asked him if he could take a different day instead so he’s home free until then.
“If nobodies free I’m just going to play games all day.” Dean talks to his cactus that had a smile drawn onto it by his friend the last time they came over. It sat on the windowsill as he did the dishes in the sink below.
“I don’t need them to have fun, I can take a self-care day and do whatever I want here.” He continues talking, trying not to hype himself up so he’s not sad when his friends all say they’re busy.
He gets a call, almost dropping the last dish in surprise before putting it in the dishrack safely. He dries off his hands quickly, putting the phone to his ear.
“Hello?” He is still for a few seconds as he listens, ears straight up in attention before his tail wags, his whole body relaxing. “Yeah? Meet you at the cafe in an hour? Cool, see ya then.”
As soon as he hangs up he shoves his phone into his jeans pocket, throwing off his sweatshirt and throwing on his leather jacket. He dashes from room to room, looking above and under everything. “Where the hell are my keys?”
He growls a bit in frustration but soon enough he finds them, leaving the apartment in a rush, jumping down flights of stairs until he reaches the parking lot. He grabs his helmet and pulls it over his head, starting up his motorcycle as he kicks back the stand.
He takes off, driving down the road a bit faster the needed from his excitement, his tail whipping in the wind behind him. Sure he could spend the day to himself and have a good time but he’s been working nonstop and hasn’t been able to see any of his friends in a while.
Today was going to be a fun day.
