Trixie felt a sudden chill come over her. She looked around, “Is somepony watching me? Maybe I had better get inside...” Quickly she crossed the garden and into the main keep. Once inside the building, she could see that the castle had been indeed quite grand at one time, but it had definitely suffered a great catastrophe many years ago. Still, carpets remained on the floor, and tattered tapestries graced the walls. Two rearing alicorns overhung twin thrones, one yellow with a sun symbol, the other midnight blue with a crescent moon. “Whoever lived here must have been very rich and powerful indeed, a pity Trixie could not be here to demonstrate her power for them... Wait a minute, maybe they had a library, Alicorn magic is the most powerful in all of Equestria, if there is a library here...” The small blue pony quickly bolted off in search of ancient knowledge.

A quick lap around the castle perimeter confirmed the dragon's hope. A solitary trail of hoofprints led from the forest into the castle. His prey was indeed isolated. Quickly he returned to the orchard, but saw she was no longer there. Listening quietly, he heard the echo of hooffalls. “Ok, she is in the keep now. All I need is a little patience and I shall enjoy the most succulent treat in all Equestria, fresh unicorn!”
