Dakarai! Original artist post here: [Life In The Canopy]Seriously, Dakarai has impressed once again bringing an idea to life! Was worried a bit about the forest being too dark as the sunlight needed to stand out, but everything came out purrfectly; more than that actually! Was so excited when I saw the finished piece the first time and still very much am! Can't say enough how much I love warming rays of sunshine in illustrations of all kinds, and this piece has that element in spades. Glowing golden forest particles making those very rays so darned magical! The blue jay itself is beautifully done to say the least! The coloring and softness to his or her feathers gives viewers a sense of the gentle, elegant spirit within; while the sharp details give a sense of determination, flying precision, and maneuvering skills. Least that's what I see looking at this particular avian. In terms of the scene itself, it looks to me like he or she is taking a moment to bathe in the sun's rays, resting those delicate yet powerful wings before taking flight once again to who knows where? Then there's the surrounding forest which I love very much! And just like the last piece [Springtime Vibes], I look at this work of art and wonder what sorts of sounds, smells, and feels I'd experience in this spot. Another resting spot I'd love to enjoy for a while, maybe relaxing and observing while the mind flows at ease. Or even taking a nap under the forest's hypnotic ambience. But...this space high among the leaves is the home of graceful avian's and I'd not want to disturb this peaceful zone. But one can dream yeah? :)
Heheh best I stop rambling now. That was quite a lengthy note for this piece, but it really speaks to how much I love this wonderful work of art and the range of emotions it stirs. Not to say I don't love previous pieces, but something about this one grips me at the core, and I can't tell why to be honest. There's like a weird mixture between peace, happiness and warmth; colliding with the chilled feeling of missing something, along with a want to fly...
Anywho, hope you've all enjoyed this illustration as much as I have! I wish everyone a Roarin Soarin Saturday today, and a Sunny Sundae Sunday tomorrow! Make sure you have a sundae at some point tomorrow! =3
