Yeahhh....if I ever go superhero (in our reality, more like a masked vigilante), my suit is gonna be kevlar, titanium, shock-gel pads, etcetera. Might slow you down a little, but believe me, no gunfight survivor regrets investing in bulletproofing.

Actually, if you get nano carbon filament and have it woven into a thread, it's like a very stiff wool shirt. And can block most every bullet type except armor piercing and is heat resistant. There's a type of gel substance they make out of soy oil that can absorb 46% kinetic shock, if you wear a woven chain mail under the carbon fabric and the pads on your tender organ regions. You'd be able to move better then most military armor. Sapi plates are bulky as hell. And Kevlar unless treated with a flame retardant burns like an oil soaked rag.

Scientists have also found out how to graft artificial webbing to human skin..so if you were the "I will be the ultimate super" with cash (Or just super successful with your robbing the bad guys for resource cash) You could even have your self made bullet resistant with out armor

And NO capes!

Capes are generally not worn by villains, unless they're the kind with a hood attached, or the villain is an evil copy of a hero
