Shortly before the MLP movie came out, a friend of mine made a parrot pirate fancharacter and reminded me that I had a group of lady pirates I could restore to Active OC status by designing them as the sky pirates from the movie. So I did!
Captain of the Zephyr, Carina the greenwing macaw; first mate Arin the military macaw; gunner Fiera the fiery-billed aracari; boatswain Maeri the eclectus; galley cook Telu the trogon; and quartermaster Ruby the red-tailed tropicbird.
Carina has a well-established superstition that having dudes on her ship leads to bad luck. Something's always gone wrong when there was a male bird aboard. So from Captain to cabin-poult, they're all ladies.
