It actually stopped and looked at me while I took the pic. :u (Astroturf, lawl.)

Maybe I should look back into getting that 50mm f/1.8...
I have my eye set on the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM, and am throwing money at it right now for a Spring pickup, but I'd also really love a wide-aperture lens for things like this.
I may grab the 28mm f/1.8 and/or the 50mm f/1.4, and/or the 85mm f/1.8. I wanted a wide-angle since I'm using an APS-C 7D, but something in the telephoto realm wouldn't be bad either.
All in all, I like this picture. It's cute, and really made me think. XD

It's fast , it's sharp and it's cheap - I picked mine up brand new for, like, $90. Unfortunately, the auto-focus is very slow and very noisy and it's minimum focusing distance is a measly 1.5 ft. This particular shot isn't macro so much as it is a cropped photo of a large praying mantis. :P If you can shell out the $90 for it, go for it; it's great for low-light and selective-focusing. It may only be marginally sharper and not as fast, but the 70-200mm IS USM is certainly more versatile and actually has better magnification.
