So this is my submission to the Awkward Paws Fanart contest.
Awkward Paws is a webcomic comedy strip that I only recently discovered, but I quickly grew to enjoy. It's pretty good, light-hearted fun with a knack for puns that'll make you crack a smile (or possibly facepalm). I'd highly suggest giving it a look ^^

As for the artwork, I wanted to do something 60s inspired (since that's when the comic is set). Considering my fondness of psychedelia, I was really tempted to go that route, but I couldn't seem to nail down an initial sketch I was happy with. Eventually I decided to pull inspiration from the Brady Bunch and more specifically The Beatles record, "A Hard Day's Night". I actually combined elements from both the album and the soundtrack for the film of the same name. In the end it doesn't terribly resemble any of the stuff I was inspired by, but that's probably for the better...
