It was a really quiet time of the day, not that this small space in the woods was busy during any time of the day. Most would be in their homes sleeping or waiting on the sun to come up, but the female here couldn’t wait, could she? She made small tapping sounds as her sharp talons stepped through the dirt and grass, she really didn’t care as she neared the lake shore.
Somebody new to the area wouldn’t be able to guess that there was a lake nearby unless they could smell the water, because of the thick wall of shrubs and bushes that kept the body of water hidden from prying eyes, along with the placement of the waters, but her solution to the problem was simple. She crouched for a bit in front of a tree, spread her wings and extended her tail, even cupping up her tailpiece before suddenly taking off. Although the process might’ve looked dramatic from afar, she only flapped her wings once or twice before hanging onto the branch using her claws and just climbing over. Sure, she was more than capable of flying the whole distance to the shore with such massive pink wings she has, but she really didn’t want to do it, even if she ended up spending more effort to hoist herself onto the branch and over the bushy fence.
Upon passing over the green barrier, she was finally met with the sight of a rather small lake, what kept it hidden even from the dragons flying above was the fact that it was located in a covered spot beneath a giant cliff along with having the entrance covered in greenery, almost forming a cave, but being too open from two sides, it was difficult to say that it was a cave. She looked around for a bit, seeing that nobody was nearby, she found a spot by a rock and went there to take off her jacket and most of her clothes, it didn’t take her long before she folded them and stepped into the water. When her purple talons made contact with the water, she shuddered a bit at the cold, but that didn’t stop her from continuing forward until the height of the water reached her shoulders. She opened and raised her wings upwards along with her tail before slowly bringing them down a little cupped, keeping small air pockets under her wings and in her tail flap before she pushed herself forwards and further into the water. She herself isn’t a water dragon, but she still enjoyed swimming in this small spot quite often, it was a good way to get away from her life every now and then. She practically slid through the water as she used a really little amount of effort to move around the clear waters, her source of momentum being mostly the slow and yet constant movement of her talons under the water surface, looking almost like a crocodile in the process.. Which was truthfully where she got the idea for this technique from.
Her parents always hated for her to be away for too long, but what was not too long for them now? She was over twenty years old, they couldn’t hold her down forever, and all she needed was a bit of time to prepare her things so she can set out on her own. The air was filled with the smell of earth and water, and there was nearly no sound in her ears other than her own quiet splashing whenever she changed direction. Truly relaxed, she closed her eyes for a bit to admire the atmosphere, how it was so different from what she’s used to. How long will she take before going back again? Looking outside the opening and at the sun that had started rising up, she’d probably leave after an hour or an hour and a half, just after she’s done of being alone.

SO.. I did mention being a writer but didn't submit anything to this site, this is basically my first work here and I do wish that you guys had fun reading it!
Tis basically about the said dragon lass having a break from her life for a bit, it can be treated as a roleplay starter too if somebody asks, but I still am getting adjusted to this site and how to operate it.
