Taking Tolkien's advice that good stories arise from good maps, I've begun mapping the setting for my most ambitious work yet.

Behold the lands of Orndhal, one of the continents on the world of Valagn. Known in ancient times as "Jas Mali Ohn Torst," (trans. Great Land Amid Dividing Seas), Orndhal stretches some six thousand miles west to east and four thousand north-south, located in Valagn's northern hemisphere. The southmost segments abut the equator while the northern reaches overlook the polar seas.

This is the most basic look of the map, only the outline of the land really. But I plan to fill in the blanks with cities, nations, mountains, plains, etc.
