Another attempt at re-imagining classic D&D monsters, this time I'm sketching out giants! The many flavors of giants in D&D are fascinating to read about, from their culture to their interaction with the tinier races. I wanted to make my own version of these giants by basing their anatomy off of the environments they live in.

Hill giants are the most common type of giant, living in grassy plains and forests in small close-knit tribes. Their thick, wrinkled hide easily accumulates dirt and moss, allowing grass and small plants to grow on their bodies to the point where one can easily mistake a sleeping hill giant for an actual hill. This comes in handy when they sleep, for hill giants can spend days or weeks sleeping, leaving them vulnerable to hunter-adventurers. Some giants will even decorate their bodies with stones and shrubs, or allow birds to nest in their foliage to add to the illusion (as well as feed on the many insects that plague their skin).
