The Crocutan wedding ceremony is based more on war than on love. At one point, the groom is supposed to indicate his submission by ritually exposing his throat to the bride, who than accepts his submission by taking his throat between her teeth, and giving it a squeeze, to indicate "I can kill you with a snap of my jaws...but I choose to let you live."
