Revisiting some like, 15 year old concepts.

Aniaitan Starcatchers are a kind of...shapeshifting alien chimera demi-god thing that can turn itself invisible. They are the children of one of their planet's moon gods, and like their name implies, they do his work of taking the stars from the sky at dawn and putting them back in the sky at dusk. Their fingers are lomg, thin, and burned from having to grasp for stars. Graceful, curious, and playful, some of them take the shape of their planet's people, and some have even bonded and had children with them while in that shape. Even though they are considered demigods, they have their own sense of culture and community, and they can and do die, and mourn for their dead. A mourning Starcatcher may burn the bones of one it was close to in the tail of a comet, and wear the burned bones for a grieving period. They dislike violence and are prone to avoid confrontations, to such a degree that the Aniaitan people believed them all to have perished or fled after a calamity altered the landscape of the planet.
