Hey folks! Sorry for the lack of communication recently, lifes been a handful
But anywho
Here is a group that has a surprise visitor, a wild spirit or free starir.
So what are those?
Well if you have seen my doodles you may know of Dreamcalling, but in case not ill just rebrief it all here
When a spirit dies under the Raddir their spirit is dropped into what is essentially a pocket dimension accidentally created by the raddir known as the 1st construction. Spirits are reincarnated from this afterlife however it is completely random and indeterminate, you may reincarnate near instantaneously in a new body and life, or it may take you over a million years to finally reincarnate.
There is a discipline of magic known as "Dreamcalling" where the caster essentially asks for volunteers in this ocean of spirits, and considering there are billions in there who have been stuck there for thousands of years each there are generally some pretty eager volunteers.
These volunteers are then brought into the living world and are known as Starir. It is up to the Starir however to build themselves a body and will frequently do so by forming manacrust and possessing it as a body.
You can somewhat consider a starir something like an undead, except no flesh nor rotting scales and instead a strange construct of stone.
Generally the dreamcaller who summoned this spirit has no force of will on the starir, its mostly that the two work through a deal that was struck between the Starir and the Dreamcaller who summoned it or them. Generally this includes a timed point in which the starir will return down to the construction. Most starir are good on honoring this deal but there are some who are more than down to betray their summoner.
Of course though not everyone wants to go back down there so soon and while not common, it is not unheard of for a starir to break it's bond with the one who summoned it (usually by killing the summoner) and running off to do it's own thing. These are usually referred to as "Wild Spirits" and are a huge hazard as that spirit doesn't want to die and will often resort to attacking and killing those around it to protect it's new stake on the living world.
As is the case with this unfortunate trio of travelers, it's gonna be a long night.
Shaggy out!

I love world and character building, but I often struggled to name things/places/people, and many a time would have a hard time describing what a place looked like xD Large part of why I took up 3D (Carrara and later Vue) but for one reason and another, I didn't go anywhere with it. I was too... Undisciplined xD Procrastination, wandering off, short attention span, you name it. Add in a dash of low self-esteem too for good measure!
So I'd like, have a lot of thoughts floating around in my head... I'd have story arcs and stuff going on.... But I only had a "vague idea" of what was going on and there was a lot of channel surfing happening, where I'd be bouncing between different parts of the arc (Usually begginning / middle / end) and not really knowing what went on in between... But the worst thing is I rarely wrote stuff down, and since I would daydream up stuff so quickly it often became obsolete. I tried to make some efforts in uniting it all but like with 3D, I never 'stuck to it'. I found a real cool program called Liquid Binder XL or something that did a lot of the stuff I wanted (Much better than jus text documents!) but there was some features I wanted to see that sadly never got implemented. Can't remembr what they were now though...
Additionally, I had issues with only having a concept but then when it came time to write it down, it was like trying to describe an object being held on the border of your field of vision. You KNOW it's there, sometimes can make out it being like blue or something... But that's it. You can't describe in DETAIL what it is. And I had this habit of just deciding not to write it down if I couldn't do it all in one go.
It was a little easier with established settings, aka fanficiton, but I often still struggled with naming original characters haha
Like, in my recent journal about Warcraft 3? I loosely based the "Heartwing" stories off of the series's plot as it progressed, before deciding I wanted nothing more to do with it after Cataclysm (I only incorporated a few concepts from Wrath of the Lich King) and around then just wholly did my own thing. It was for the most part a more light hearted and whimsical approach, and the main characters were a band of adventurers.
Heartwing - A red drake. His egg was acquired from an auction house in Stormwind and eventually wound up traveling the world with said party. He's somewhat ignorant about the world, and his upbringing by humans means he often engages in behavior that most red dragons would shun. Perhaps befitting a red dragon though, he has the ability to see the good in anyone he meets.
??? - "Human" mage. Actually an Azure Drake fleeing Northrend after a falling out with his father. Very reluctant to return there, and is also very good at hiding his true nature as a dragon. Very good, considering....
???? - Tauren Hunter, who can *track* dragons even when shapeshifted. Though only to a limited extent, very talented magic users can fully mask their nature so xD This one was based off my character when I played the MMO, though I never did settle on a name. Running gags are is his engineering creations causing mischief (Heartwing usually being on the receiving end of this), and nobody being able to pronounce his name instead opting for a single-syllable shortening of it, akin to how my friends in-game would just say "Syn" in Warcraft, and "Syl" on Xbox.
And an Orc who I also never remembered the name of BUT taking this further I can't even remember the class he was. >< Or.... Much of anything really ;v;
I feel so ashamed haha... xD
I do remember the Blood Elf though, who the "human" mage helped out on more than one ocassion. I don't remember much about him though other than the drake-in-hiding managing to find a way to artificially stem their race's hunger for magic. I forget how, but it was sort of like "recycling" the magic or something? So it didn't get rid of it fully, but it did water it down a ton. I forget how I described it hnnnnnnnnn ;v; ;v; ;v;
Aaah but I went off on a tangent there~

Nah Tangents are what I live for!
I tend to start a lot with vague ideas like "Cool Bronze age wyverns" or "Post apocalyptic high fantasy with dragons and stuff" and honestly a lot of these ideas have kinda bounced in and out of my head for a few years, or concepts I've discussed with friends the dragonscape included! Granted I tend to not think much about stories or individual characters as much, i mean i do! But I tend to find myself thinking about things like perceptions and reactions to events as well as how cultures or norms sorta fall into place. I told one of my friends here where i live that I kinda like thinking about that huge macro world, it's why i have hard time doing stories I feel and why i have never ever finished a comic out of the dozens that I've tried.
Though on a side note i have enjoyed writing out short stories thats pretty great
but yeah most of my stories in my head tend to focus on the beginning and the climax point and I rarely think about how something ends hehe.
Yeah i tend to have that issue a lot too of brainstorming up a shit ton of ideas and things and modifying the world, I mean just looking 3-5 months back in my gallery will show a somewhat different vision for the DragonScape than what is currently the thing, you can also see it with the sogaluns on that last minute decision to have them be armless. I wanna finish that world up once im done with the Dragonscape
I like the idea of building an idea up over time, like the Starir and Dreamcalling
When i first drew them and decided it would be a thing it was just "You summon a mana construct with music"
Then eventually it become "You summon these things but they take an increasing tax on you the more you summon"
and then I added "Also they are basically dead spirits who are desperate to see the sky once again after thousands of years in the 1st construction"
And a lot of little thoughts and changes and such.
So I dunno i think what im trying to say is that I don't know how much that might help, but I do like to take the vague ideas that i start with and kinda build on them over time to create something more interesting for me to think about, and then once im done ill just move on to the next thing i didn't really think about.
Yeah I wasn't really able to get truly that entrenched into making fanfiction, I mean as you know i had a servine sona for years, but i never really did anything there. It got to a point where i wasn't playing pokemon anymore and I couldn't relate to the servine and wanted to make my own thing and then i made pixie wyverns. I think its a great thing you are able to work with fanfiction though! Something i kinda wish i could do as admittingly these days i kinda just get stuck in the dragonscape. (though the Metro books have absorbed me pretty well)
I honestly know nothing about WoW or it's lore as its something i have never played, not even the MMO, but just looking at the descriptions of the characters you've given i do quite like some of them, particularly Heartwing and the (totally a scalie) human mage.
But yeah i mean i dont know if im doing the right thing by slinging my personal thoughts and advice as I ain't an expert on any of what is mentioned above but I would be totally down to huck some feedback back n forth about anything you're doing!

Mmm yeah, vague starting points~ The only problem after is not witing it down haha~
Mmm, well I knew a fair amount of it prior to the point where I dropped off and I read up on the rest, but there were chunks I dropped or simplified or edited, and then there were still some gaps in my knoweldge. But since it was a fiction and stuff, I didn't mind. I talked with some others and we ounced ideas back and forth (My idea about the [Neltharion's Tear] item keeping a young Onyxia shielded from their "curse" was a favorite for some folks), but overall the 'modern' canon is largely a mystery to me. I know some about it, and overall the cons far outweighed the pros. I can toss you a note elaborating on that if you want; I was talking to a friend about it on Discord and it ended up blowing into a huuuuge rant (fron a TL/DR too hah)
I can try and summarize by saying the killed off a favorite character of mine, and even though they tried rationalizing WHY I still think it was BS and--- No, I won't elaborate. An old, old friend of mine accepted their decision, but funnily enough took issue only with their seemingly retconning his verbal tic. Basically, when he got flustered or excited he'd start talking very quickly + often repeating the last few words of his sentences several times. They took that tic out when they turned him evil.
One of the few things I really liked about some of the later stuff though was "Snarlflare" and "Awbee" (My recent journal mentions my wanting to name my pluishes after them! :D) These were two dragon whelps in the Classic Era of the MMO - a black and blue dragon respectively. Because reasons (Our understanding of this topic changed with Cataclysm. I feel retcon, since it was around this time they were acquired by Activision IIRC, and a lot of the writing began to plummet...) the black dragons are evil, and Awbee was beaten to near death by the Orcs living in Blackrock Spire, one of the black dragon lairs.
In one of the later expansions, I thibk Cataclysm, both dragons are shown to not only be still alive, but have matured into drakes too. Awbee even helps you out in a fight from what I remember. I always loved imagining them as being friends, canon be damned, and Snarlflare being fiercely protective of his blue friend. ^v^
