Commission for
Geistault
"Why are they taking so long..." Maribelle asked to herself. All her friends had to do was to visit the town and buy a nice cake for her Birthday while she prepared the home for the festivities. But it has been almost 7 hours already and no sign of them returning... could something bad have happened to them? One thing she knew for sure, she couldn't just stay waiting there anymore. So the mechanic gal grabbed her trusty wrench and walked outside, heading to the nearby town.
The walk wasn't very long, and soon enough Maribelle entered downtown. It was a very calm and rustic place, one could think it was just a village if weren't by all the small stores scattered all over the stone streets.
Cautiously walking through the shops, Maribelle searched for a bakery where her friends could have got into. Potion shops, pet shops, clothing and armor stores... no bakery in sight. Could this town be devoided of one, making her friends have to look elsewhere? But fortunately the girl found a quite cozy-looking shop with many cakes on display on the end of the street, finally a bakery!
The store door bells ringed as Maribelle entered inside. It didn't appear to look nothing out of the ordinary, just a table full of apparently fresh baked goods, a counter showcasing even more tasty-looking pastry with a cash register on the side, and a door on the back, probably heading to the kitchen.
It wasn't long until a really robust beardy man came from the door, wearing the usual white cook outfit, with frosting marks all over it.
"Hello there sweet pie, how may I help you?" He said, closing the door and going behind the counter.
Maribelle got quite intimidated by the sight, one could think the baker was actually a dwarf if he weren't so tall.
"I... huh... I... err...I'm just looking for my friends, but I see that they aren't here... so... huh... see you later and..."
"Aww, so you aren't going to buy anything?" The man interrupted, raising an eyebrow as the girl walked towards the outside door. "What a shame, I just had a fresh new batch!"
But Maribelle didn't appear to be interested merely opening the outside door without saying a word. But unfortunately for her, it appeared to be locked all of sudden!
"Oh, pardon me miss, this old door really needs repairing... but don't worry, you can leave by the backdoor!" He then pointed his large hairy arm to the other door, who strangely opened by itself.
She nodded in response, staring at him with an embarrassed smile as she walked inside it. However the other room didn't have any other door, just an apparently normal kitchen. But before she could go back, a mountainous figure blocked her way.
"Let's get to work now, shall we?" The baker said, immediately pouring the contents of a small sack on top of the girl, who gasped as she was covered by some kind of strange glowing white flour.
"W-what's the meaning of this?! Stop this immediately or else I'll have to call-" Maribelle protested but was soon interrupted by the man again, who effortlessly carried her towards the kitchen table.
She tried to flail and protest even more, but it seemed that her body stopped obeying! She felt so light-headed and relaxed, so... soft.
"... p-please... I need to find... my friends..." The dazed girl said as her face turned into a dizty smile. The man chuckled to himself and uncerimoniously dropped her on the table. And for the dizzy girl surprise, her body smushed onto it with a plop, compressing like dough!
"Do not worry, missy, soon you'll join all of your cheapskate friends." He said with a grumble, his hands already starting to knead the soft girl's body. "Too expensive huh... you humans are all the same!" The baker frowned, putting even more pressure on the dough below.
Meanwhile, Maribelle couldn't do much in her situation. She tried to protest, but only very faint cooing came from her mouth, getting smushed more and more as the brute man hands squashed and knead her without a breath, her dough body slowly losing her colors and features and becoming a skin-colored wad of dough. It didn't take long until her mind also drifted away, becoming all dizzy from all the sensations she felt from her body getting constantly smushed, slowly going... blank... everything going... dark...
Maribelle couldn't tell how much time passed, but the trapped gal could slowly feel her conscience returning. She tried to rub her head, but soon found she couldn't feel her arms! Or legs... or anything at all! The girl desperately tried to move around, but couldn't do anything but a very feeble wiggle! Opening her eyes, she looked around as she tried her best to figure out what just happened, but unfortunately for her she couldn't see much but a large glass panel on her front... a glass panel with a very strange reflection on it...
Soon reality dawned into her... she got turned into a cake! A big, two-floor cake, with matching decorated frosting and a biscuit wrench on top!
The poor girl tried to scream, move away, anything to call for help! But she clearly couldn't do much, only the same feeble wiggle which did nothing more than bounce her creamy form a little.
"Sssshhh sssshhh, calm down missy!" Came a familiar voice from behind, a large hairy arm appearing in her field of vision and placing a little tag written "Maribelle" on front of her trapped form. "You don't want to slip and splat on the floor, do you? Don't feel afraid, after all, you're indeed back with your friends now~!" He finished with a chuckle before walking away.
The cake wondered what he could be talking about, but it didn't take long until she noticed something on the glass reflections: the other cakes resting besides her indeed looked very similar to her friends, even Corrine's beret was there!
Maribelle sighed internally, at least they would still be together on her Birthday... until someone decided to buy them of course.
(The blank space there used to have an additional cake, but it got removed as the commissioner's request.)
