When Lina takes a long time to deliver Tuff's bones to him, Flo tries to encourage Tuff to go and find her to see what's taking her so long.
Note: This story just has a tiny amount of blood. But it's nothing gruesome.
One day, Tuff was sitting outside, waiting for Lina to come by with his box of bones. He had waited ten minutes for her, and she still didn't arrive.
"Uggghhhh, where is she?" he asked. "She was supposed to be here by now." The Black Lab was starting to grow impatient.
Tuff waited and waited and waited. He was wondering if Lina was even going to come. Then, Flo walked by.
"Why hello there Tuff." she said in her usual calm voice.
"Hey Flo." Tuff said in a slightly annoyed tone.
"Whatcha waitin for sugar?" Flo asked.
"Lina was supposed to come here with my bones." said Tuff. "But she's taking FOREVER!"
"Hmm, maybe she's just takinng her time and admiring the view of this wonderful world." Flo said, making a small assumption.
"Or maybe she's just being plain lazy!" Tuff huffed.
"Now now Tuff. Lina isn't lazy. I think that's Chloe you're talking about." Flo said before giggling lightly.
Tuff rolled his eyes. He wasn't a big fan of Flo's smooth talk, and didn't think he'd ever will be.
"How about we go to her instead? It's a nice day for a walk." Flo suggested.
"But, she's supposed to come to me!" Tuff argued. "I'm not walking all the way to her!"
But Flo had already started walking, much to Tuff's annoyance. He wanted Lina to keep her promise of arriving on time, and he didn't want to possibly waste time if she was just a few feet away. However, with a groan, he followed Flo.
"You better know what you're doing." he said sternly.
"Don't worry sugar. I do." said Flo.
The two walked for ten minutes. Flo was still smiling her usual smile, and Tuff was feeling rather pessimistic about the whole scenario. Nevertheless, he still kept walking with the Cocker Spaniel.
"So. What's your plan?" he asked.
"Just keep walking." said Flo. "Lina shouldn't be too far away."
Tuff sighed as he kept going. He honestly rather be waiting for Lina then going to her. He grumbled a bit during the walk. But soon, they found a area with some brambles around it.
"Whoa." went Tuff as he looked around. He could see bramble vines growing around the place.
"Wow indeed suger." said Flo. "This place looks like it could leave a bad scratch or two."
Tuff continued to look at all that brambles vines, and soon heard a whimpering sound. "What was that?" he asked.
"Hmm, sounds like a pup." answered Flo. "Come on honey, let's go see who it is." And Flo began walking in the direction of where the whimpering sound was coming from.
Tuff nodded and followed her. The whimpering sounds got a bit louder as they kept going. And eventually, they found out who was making them. And when Tuff saw who it was, he gasped. The pup making the whimpering noises was Lina. She had gotten herself stuck in a couple of bramble vines, and couldn't get free without severely hurting herself. She was visibly crying.
"It's Lina!" said Tuff, in a clear state of shock.
"Yep." said Flo. "She must've gotten herself stuck here along the way to deliver your bones." she stated.
Now Tuff felt bad for all that he had said about her.
Lina looked over at Flo and Tuff and was relieved. "G-guys! C-can you help me out of here? Please?" she whined. The thorns were really hurting her.
Tuff then put a determined expression on his face, and bravely treaded through the vines. He got a few scratches on his body, but he didn't care. His goal was to help his friend. When he reached Lina, he got a hold of the vines that were pricking her, and he pulled them off. Lina had visibly scars, which were lightly bleeding, but she was okay. The Yellow Lab was fortunate to have not moved much, or the thorns would have went deeper.
Tuff got all the vines around her off, and she moved forward, and out of the vines. Flo smiled throughout the whole scene.
"Thank you Tuff." Lina said gratefully.
"No problem Lina." said the Black Lab. "How'd you get stuck in there anyway?"
"When I was delivering your bones, I took a shortcut through this place. Well, at least I tried to." Lina explained. "And then I came across two paths, and this one looked easier, until the miving space got smaller, and smaller, and smaller, until I got stuck."
"Ohhhhh..." Tuff said.
"And then I couldn't move, because those thorns were pricking me hard!" Lina added.
"I'm sorry that happened to you." said Tuff.
"And I'm sorry for taking so long." Lina said. "I shouldn't have taken that shortcut."
"Oh Lina. You were just trying to save time. It wasn't your fault." said Tuff. "In fact, I should be saying sorry." he adds while frowning.
Lina tilted her head. "Why?" she asked.
"I was getting impatient for you to arrive. I didn't even bother thinking about if you were okay or not. I even said you were being lazy." Tuff admitted. "I'm sorry."
"Oh..." went Lina. "Well, I forgive you." she said.
"Thanks." said Tuff.
"And thank you Tuff, for saving me." Lina said.
"Well, I couldn't have done it if Flo didn't persuade me." Tuff said, as he looked at the Cocker Spaniel.
"Hehe, you listened to Flo?" Lina giggled.
"Don't laugh. It's not going to happen often." Tuff stated.
"Hehe, well, thanks Flo, for bringing him with you." said Lina.
"Anytime honey." Flo said. "Now how about we get you home so Aiden can treat you?"
Lina smiled and nodded. "Yes. I can't wait for him to tend to me." she said.
Tuff couldn't help but smile lightly. "Alright. Let's go." he said. "I could use a patch up too." he added before walking towards the exit of the bramble area.
"Hold on Tuff!" said Lina.
Tuff stopped and looked back at her. "What?" he asked.
Lina reached into the bag and pulled out a bone for him. "Here you go." she said.
Tuff looked at the bone, and smiled a bit more. "Thanks." he said, and grabbed it with his mouth, then walked off again.
Flo smiled and let Lina go before her, before walking after her. "It's always a good thing to think about others more than yourself." she said.
The End.
Tuff, Flo, and Lina belong to me.
