A warm and humid autumn afternoon Lloyd contemplates his life decisions, at 23 he was already a small business owner with all the headaches and stress that juggling financial strategies brings. Luckily his High School sweetheart and now wife of 3 years, Apollonia, is a master of her craft. Although it took much convincing of Lloyd to setup 'Cardinal Evening Wear' he eventually grew to appreciate Appolonias' dream, sadly the banks were not as optimistic of the stores prospects and so Lloyd turned to his brothers for support. Growing up in a family of eight meant that times were often hard but they all made it through with an appreciation for each other, with each brother in turn contributing what they could the business got its start in a small downtown shop with much work to be done.
Apollonia happily burst into Lloyd's office; disrupting his reflective mood, to thank him for all his hard work filing roughly a billion pieces of paperwork. Gently massaging his shoulders she said,
"You have no idea how much this means to me, with this store we can make a name for ourselves, have a legacy, something to pass on..."
Lloyd smiled and sighed, so long as his love was happy the work was worth it. It did make him wonder though 'a legacy?, something to pass on? I suppose so, she's never spoken this way before...' Feeling content at Lloyd's smile, Apollonia quietly left the room closing the door behind her.
With his thoughts drifting around the room, Lloyd was far too preoccupied to notice the presence of a tiny fertility faerie named Tina, perching on the window sill. Exasperated by her magical build-up it was imperative she found a wish to grant and fast, mumbling to herself in a voice too tiny to hear even at the quietest of times she said,
"Young, married and self supporting, I was hoping the lady would've stuck around but this guy might still say the W word"
Rubbing her belly and concentrating on Lloyds behavior she continued mumbling,
"I sure hope so or who knows what might happen with all this magical build up, I need to get closer or I might just miss my mark!"
Lloyd picked up the photo from when he graduated High School propped up on his desk, older and younger brothers surrounding him, happy and smiling. It was a memento that despite everything, growing up with his own team at his side was worth any of the hardships he may have faced. Whispering quietly into his hand Lloyd said,
"I wish me and Apollonia could have a big family of our own, with the business booming to support everyone..."
Frantically fluttering just out of sight scattering faerie dust in vast quantities on every inch of Lloyd she could feasibly cover, Tina whizzed across the office leaving everything an unusual yellow hue. Reality seemed to shift and twist, items moved in place, others changed colour, everything was being undone and rewritten. Tina gasped at the chaos her reckless wish granting was causing before flying directly into a pile of books and crashing haphazardly on to the counter they'd been placed upon.
