Heavy Battle Armor (Fantasy)
Sometimes the straightforward option is the best approach, even if it can get messy. This is what happens when Onyx feels it's necessary to bring extra...protection...to the field.
An idea that i've played with, come to your viewing pleasure. I asked
Xypress if he could work on this, and he was able to oblige me.
The silhouette (from the reference sheet by
Nomax) is supposed to be Onyx's normal size while he gets much bigger thanks to the magic imbued in the plate armor to give off a more menacing appearance, but not so big that he can hardly traverse through the different ruins he explores. This is designed to intimidate potential foes into backing off and bring the hurt down should the intimidation fail.

Ah, reasonable. If the sword was intended to be wielded as a two-hander, I'd think having the shield just sheathed on the back would play decent mind games against an enemy. It could probably be made out of a lighter weight metal to prevent from adding too much weight. From what I've heard, it's definitely possible to wield a claymore with one hand, assuming you're fit, where using the shield as a defensive option while using the claymore to punish failed attacks becomes another option. Though, people recommend using the claymore two handed either way.
