This is an idea I've had in my mind for a while. The purple lion represents consumerism, where money equals happiness, and rebelling is discouraged. They conform to what they have to wear, to listen to, to buy, how to present themself and how to think - whence the rectangular thinking balloon. The skunk is naked because they're free from norms. They're all about being natural: sitting on a tree, long hair, eating a fruit.
