So I got my Amiga 600 updated with my gotek drive which now works due to the latest firmware patch. So now this is all ran by my thumb drive, simply plug and play! Here we have Amy the squirrel being chased by the Amiga bouncing balls.

I think Personal Paint can open PNG files, might do JPG too.
As for an 'easy' way to get files onto a physical amiga, the easiest way that I use is to have an emulated amiga such as winUAE running on a PC, give it access to the PC drives so it can see the images you want to access
From there you can copy them into an ADF disc image to drop onto a pendrive and put that into a gotek floppy emulator.
Alternatively, you could use the PCDOS disc format library and mount for the physical amiga. They're capable of reading PC formatted 720K discs.
Another way would be to give the amiga a PCMCIA network card and ethernet them across, I havent done that myself yet but it shouldnt be TOO hard.
If its just converting images to work in amiga art programs though, as I said I think Personal Paint will open JPG and PNG itself.
There are two candidates for conversion programs here http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=48538
And there are likley many more if you browse through Aminet.net
