I’m imaginging his feet slowly spreading out like soggy cookie dough put on a baking sheet every time he steps. It’s a very vivid visualization for me.

I haven't done a study of hippos yet actually! But I have of rhinos so perhaps they're similar? Good for seeing how thick legs to the stumpy feet work.

very true. :3 But yee, the beans certainly made me think of rhino/hippo hooves. Definitely fitting!
