Well nevermind, nice work..

Its funny you ask as I'm not totally sure when I drew her expression.

I think the thought going through my head was-- one of those times where someone snaps a spur-of-the-moment picture of you and you attempt to strike a pose. He or she would of course fail and alot of times the victim will make a cheezy or embarrassing look on their face.
Its a Kodak moment in the making. I should know, it happened to me quite a few times =p.

I've done that a lot too, except for the 'strike a pose' part. Usually my subjects are caught in the midst of doing some something or another without awareness that they're being captured for posterity. I hope to resume such random moments once I complete my current project

Haha yep, those tend be the best pictures. But getting such photos isn't always easy, especially if you lug around a DSLR camera =p.

Actually, by subjects I meant my stable of characters--when I draw them in standalone pics, I'm usually illustrating random moments taken from whatever mundane thing I imagine them doing, much like watching a cartoon and randomly pausing it.

As for cameras, I was considering a Deja View digital camcorder. It's got a small lens unit that you can clip to a baseball cap visor or to one's glasses so the camera sees (and can record) whatever you happen to be looking at. DSLR's are kinda bulky and obvious.

I'm still practicing with general proportions so you'll see plenty of pinup style art from me.

Meh, that would be the ultimate answer to caturing those random moments but I just can't say no to the optical capabilities of a DSLR camera ;_;. You don't have to tell me, I know I'm a quality freak.

Don't know about sad =o. Caught off guard maybe, hence the big grin and embarrassed look on her face!
Conveying that look was harder than I thought ._.

I'll see if I can fix the expression a bit more to reflect what I'm trying to say.

Reading what others say about the expression, personally, I think it's pretty dead on. I doubt she's that confident about her body, and she's probably feeling a bit of panic at being caught off guard... But I dodl ove how this is turning out, I'm honored. :)

I guess we all thought of the same pose at one time or another. Good thing we can't copyright positions or there would be one hell of a art war. Or worse, drama.

It's similar, but not much else you could do with that same angle... ;) The body stance is different, it's not exact.

Besides, I highly doubt you copied it.

Of course! I just mean to say that kind of pose pops up quite often. Though they all have some slight variations, apparently. Like you said, the stance your character is in is different ;).

And of course I didn't copy it XD.

I'm pretty sure my own subconscious remembers that particular pose from some place (maybe from a movie or book!) Who knows!
