...so I've had this dutchie bubbling away inside me for well over a year now, Rukamae tempered my initial enthusiasm so the idea had time to properly simmer. Nallary wouldn't have happened, let alone have happened so well (Rukamae's drawings of dutchies helped Han greatly with understanding their body structure as well!), without Rukamae listening to the initial idea, and giving me solid advice that left me with a lot to think over.
I finally reached a point where thanks to HanMonster we nailed down the final details of the design. Originally based on the idea of Telegram stickers (yes, really) the main color of Telegram (the IM program) gave me the initial idea for the look, but obviously that name is WAAAY too close to Telephone to be usable as a name!
Han actually was who pointed me to an archaic old technique they'd used in the original telegraph days: telegram style, which was a way of condensing common phrases (usually business oriented) into single words to save on telegram costs, which were by the word back then.
With that extra push, the little gem of Nallary came to light. "Unnecessary, but advantageous." Sharing knowledge, giving a kindness without expectation, things which aren't needed, but which are beneficial to do versus not.
Twice-spawned by the word telegram, but ending up quite far away in almost all ways from Telephone, meet my (not so little) dutch angel dragon, who's never afraid of getting messy or trying something new. Maybe it'll go disastrously, but maybe... just maybe, something beautiful will happen instead?
