The trauma Ruby went through that caused her to grow so unnaturally large means that standing at 25 feet, running is terribly painful on the knees, so instead she uses her huuuuuuge snake tail to lift her up and quickly slither after what she is going to mash. Although using your body like a bulldozer to smash her way through trees and buildings while slithering kind of defeats the point of having a bit of pain in her knees....then again, she is pretty mindless.
