i'm trying to make time on the weekends to do personal/for-fun art :>
i often found myself cramming on comms on weekends when i already had more than enough time to meet deadlines, so i'm trying to do that less & hopefully avoid burnout that way;;
so today i made a tiel to relax~ i realized i hadn't actually made a bird in blender yet & needed to fix that >:0
making it an F2U gif because why not

Dude... this is seriously incredible! I think you really captured that old school psx low poly feel! I've been wanting to attempt to do this for a while. Only really gotten around to attetmting to make the models but no textureing yet xD. What would you say is the main element that really gives it the old school look? The way you paint the textures?
oh!!! i have just the set of tutorials for that:

these are super helpful & launched me into my mild low-poly addiction, haha :')
the "texturing" is actually really simple & you just assign specific colors to different faces. i'm under the impression that it's easier to learn than traditional texture painting (which is next on my list of things to learn *v*; ), but it does cause your vertice count to go up a bit, since you'll end up "drawing" more faces onto the model than you usually would. (like how i "drew" the red cheeks here with additional vertices, so i could assign a red color to the face made by those vertices.)
& thank you so much!!! ;v; i'm happy to hear that it gives you a PSX feel! <3
