You took the picture in Lone Pine? He's a quite a ways from home! Not sure what he's representing on the possibles bag under the jackalope. Whatever it is, the craftsmanship is excellent. Armadillo, maybe?

The main part of it under the head did look like armadillo from what I could tell.
This was just at the start of the annual Lone Pine Western Film Festival held every year over the Columbus Day weekend.

If anyone thinks they might attend, get a motel EARLY. They are booked up nearly a year in advance and they fill them from Ridgecrest to Bishop.

Pretty good for a town you can walk from one end to the other in 30 mins or less.
