I might be christian, but I don't let myself get sucked into the whole 'fanatic' thing, because it doesn't match my values (aka. gays go to hell, and all that bullshit), so that's why I go to church, but refuse to read the bible.

actually, you should takr a peek some time. You will be surprised what you find in there what is rightout omitted by the "christian white knights" - especially when it comes to accepting others and their point-of-view on certain things.

I'm rather turned off by this piece. Sure, there has been a few stupid things like the anti-Jewish attacks during the inquisition, the poor violence Spanish settlers did with Native Mexicans/South Americans, White racist twisting up the Bible to false justify anti-Black policies. But I do think it is unfair to take some radicals to color the spirit of an entire spiritual faith. Other than those few stupid events I mention above Christians have been mostly peacful and tolerant, simialr to Jews. Meanwhile there have been some religions and belief systems that tend to be more violence-prone than Christianity and Judaism.

I never attacked christianity, but those who abuse their faith to commit crimes the bible explicitely forbids. That's a huge difference.

Not that I like religion, either, but, having him destroying a cross more resembles a full declaration of war than just targeting the fanatics. But, yes, I wish the conservative halfwits would relax and let us fap to porn and marry other cute boys.
