I love the look of this, very 1950s retro, "Forbidden Planet" look. The strong stylistic exageration of the vertical lines, really makes things stand out.

Thankies. ^_^ That's very much what was in my head when I did this piece. I've been ordered to color it, though I'll probably do it on the computer rather than by hand and see if I can keep that '50's sort of feeling.

Yeah, got a couple of domes down there, by the base of the that big, tall rocket... A nice ring ready for the rocket to pass through...

And what's that tall, narrow gap in those rocks?

This reminds me of a similar style of Bill Waterson when he would draw landscapes for Calvin's alter-ego, Spaceman Spiff.
