SCAVENGERS ISSUE 1 COVER SAMPLE
I drew this up at full size- 11x17, then used watercolors on the suits and hose, ink wash for the ship, then a light rusty wash on the ship itself to help warm it up a bit. The tether got striped because I thought such would be more visible if seen against a variety of surfaces and seemed like a natural safety measure.
Now I have to make up the title graphics and other stuff for the actual cover to be sent off to the publisher. I thought you guys would like to see it without all that stuff on it. :)

One piece of advice: Don't "marker in" your starscapes.
I can think of at least a couple of ways to do 'em that should save you some time, and get you a nice, even black, especially if you're not averse to working digitally. For the story itself, it might not be so important, but your cover art should really look the best you can make it.

Nooooooo!
I'm of an old school belief that likes comics to be black and white or greyscale like this. Doing it up all in color ssems to take some of the pleasure of imagination. It's sort of like reading a really good book versus seeing a movie of it. I need to use my mind for part of it to really enjoy it more, to be part of it.
I could have done all this in color instead of inkwash, but I wanted that feel that comes with inkwash.
Besides, we can't produce a color interior comic for $4 at this time. :)
