This was done for a friend of mine who reads CaP. she told me today she wanted to know more about the book that Jenga got, so i decided I'd indulge her. Mostly.
Enjoy!
Notes: Done in about 30 minutes or so.
Story:
Cupidit ac Patienti
Sidestory: The Book of Shadows
Jen had spent the whole day staring at the book. He wanted to open it, but after the night when he opened it last, he was afraid. He’d done a bit of research: A book of shadows was, in essence, a witch’s journal.
He sighed, sitting up. He wanted to read it so badly. He grabbed the book gently, laying it upon his legs. He flipped to the first page:
This is to be my book of shadows. Ye who read this, if anyone does, be warned now, against folly. Magick is a powerful force, and few can learn to harness it. Few may find this book, but those who do, be strong of will and brave of heart.
Jen grinned to himself. He didn’t think he was either. He flipped a few pages ahead:
Accosted this day have I been, annoyed, vexed, pissed. All with myself.
I saw him again in the halls, fur of black and eyes of gold. That panther is so sexy, I know. If only he was mine, but I doubt he’d find me fine.
Sadly love spells are forbidden, or I would find out where they’re hidden. I guess I must make do, with prayers and wishes, oh sadly true.
But Evan…sigh.
Jen giggled to himself. Wow, who knew? It must’ve been a local writer, or a different Evan. He flipped through the pages, settling on one near the center of the book:
Today I was asked if I was gay. I responded with a simple “Yes.” The girl walked away. By the next period people were staring at me and whispering. At the end of the day, a boy asked me out. A smallish gray wolf, he was cute. But I turned him down. I saw something in his eyes, and knew he’d never be happy except with someone he was closer to now.
I think it was the right choice.
Jen blinked, furrowing his brow. Then he shrugged. There were hundreds of gray wolves in the world. He flipped to the last page, and felt his eyes closing. No! He couldn’t fall asleep! But he did anyways, the book falling onto the floor, closed.
And, to any eye that may have been watching, it appeared as if the book slipped itself under the bed.
Enjoy!
