Light Heart is a character of mine for a future project starring Bashful. :)

In the world Ryan's comic, "The Eight" is set in, some ancient tribal sects, including raccoons, believed in various creator deities. Light Heart is one of these.

He is said to resemble a young raccoon, but with a small glittering horn atop his head. He was the Sky Deity, with hair the color of clouds, eyes the color of the sky, and markings that are somewhat hard to describe. Like looking at a prism or mother-of-pearl, Light Heart's mask, ears, rings, and feet seemed to glisten with pale colors that changed and shimmered as he walked. When he wandered across the sky, sometimes he left pale rainbows or the aurora borealis in his wake.

The thing about Light Heart, was that he was madly in love with the Sun, and often willingly threw himself in battle whenever storms threatened the Sun's kingdom. When he fought for the Sun's honor, ancient stories said, he cried tears of love, which is why it sometimes rained. His horn created the lightning, they also said.

Of course, as you know, stories are stories, and often exaggerated or details lost over time, so while Light Heart likely wasn't causin' any storms or lightning or magical crapola, there -is- a chance that he -did- exist in some form, and might still be around today. But that's just a rumor. :)

He was a lot of fun to sculpt, and I tried really hard to get the pastel shimmery mother of pearly light look for his markings (psst, Babs, the vintage True Heart Bear, y'know wot I mean? That's wot I was after :) )
He's not quuuuite as regal looking as I'd wanted, considering he's a rumored deity, but I still learned a lot of neato tricks sculpting him, and I want to definitely do a 2D version eventually. :) Other shots are located here: http://solfire.com/newlopart/light_heart/

He is my attempt at taking one of those way crazy color-schemed off the wall holy LENSFLARE BATMAN designs and fleshing it out into a character/storyline I could possibly work with. No angst, violet eyes, or MYSTERIOUS PAST this time though. :)P

I'm really digging this 3D stuff. It's very relaxing and fun, even if the results are whacked. :)
