A quick blocking out of a vehicle, trying to see how I like how the shapes work in 3D. Maybe even useful down the road as a reference.
I still don't have a designation, name, term, what-have-you, for whatever exactly this thing is. It's not quite all jet, it's not really a mech, it's like someone spilled some mech on a VTOL. Some kind of hovering tank jet. It's a shielded monster, something that the mere threat of their deployment is a deterrent. The life support involved in keeping the pilot alive, unharmed, and conscious must be insane. These machines are able to change their direction of flight and motion in the blink of an eye, enough to dodge incoming missiles head-on by violently thrusting the craft to the left or right at the last instant.

Well, just throw in that they have tech for inertial dampeners and then you don't have to worry about it! Or some kind of autonomous AI if the pilot passes out, but then why have a pilot at all? Super fancy pressure suits? Could go the route of intravenous injections that inject a chemical concoction that keeps blood vessels open and prevents blood pooling. Uncomfortable, not perfect, but can withstand high-G maneuvers for longer than without.
All pretty good solutions - I usually go for some kind of "buffer" generator or layer that protects the cockpit area in combination with some kind of special suit.
It would be kind of funny / odd to have the whole interior "inflate" with some kind of special material that conforms to the pilot's shape and smothers them in place.
I know in "Brigador" the spacers use some kind of fluid-filled sacs as cocpkits, there's all kinds of weird and cool stuff you can do with some handwavium and sci-fi / fantasy settings.

The you talk about the life support randomly made me think of Silas from Transformers Prime cuz just lookit him man! xD https://toyroom.files.wordpress.com.....11/silastv.jpg
Course a pilot wouldn't look like this but without tubes going inside the body since Silas literally is controlling a dead bots body.

Oh, very nice! I love aerial vehicles like that, a heavy take on a gunship. I remember quite enjoying the ATACs in Killzone and how they moved.
