SL avatar scan photogrammetry
soon i'll get a 3D printer ( christmas present ^.^ )
so i was wondering " what if i can print my Avi on second life? "
here the job : after a long year of absence on this program ive set my avi in a herma version with a nice pose .
i took hundred of screenshot in maximal resolution and computed the full mesh result with some softwares.
i thing the result is nice for a try and from something we arent allowed to extract so easly =D
after some mesh cleaning i'll print this and paint it ^.^ another figurine of my sona for meh \o/
i cant wait !

Good luck. For a triangulated model it looks great.I advice you do extensive reaserch in regards with what exactly it is you want to use the printer for. After all it's a very hard to mentain machine. I wish you the best of luck and I admire furries who try new technology for accomplishing their artistic goals.
I have been trying my luck with photogrammetry to capture my sl avatar as well. so far my results have not been all that great. my first attempt the hollow cube that I used as a backdrop to provide contrast to my av was all that meshroom meshed I took a good 103 pics or so but think I had the camera to close to my av
you must use spheric hollow with white and a bit of light . i tried first with black and i didnt get great results... exepted for hairs.
but in general , i get nicer result with white sphere.
for the camera close or not from the avatar , it doesnt really matter as you just need see the entire avatar in every pics and shoot with regulars angles. and DOESNT MOOVE , not even a hair
