Huzzah! Behold, for I have finished my month 1 challenge for the Tale of Two Gamers! I present to you one painted (and based) Skink Priest, Tk'ya'pyk the Boneheaded (means something different to a Seraphon - in this case, it refers to his headpiece) and a unit of 10 Skinks with Javelin and Shield. They're actually not 100% done - I need to pick a color to ring the bases with. I usually do a metallic color for characters, and vary the color of the bases from unit to unit so I can tell them apart more easily during a game.
I did a mix of greens with several drybrushes for the skin, red with an orange drybrush for headfins and scales. Shields are brown with a gray drybrush. Bases are meant to be jungle terrain: primer spraycoat, then successive drybrushes of three different mid browns, a sprinkling of green flock to represent moss, and some modeling putty 'rocks' done up in dark and mid grays.
