Not gonna lie, as a kid, I always found Injector (ergo, his Beast Wars NEO counterpart, Rartorata) to be one of the scarier Transformers. I dunno, maybe it has something to do with being spheksophobic (I have a deathly fear of wasps). But even then, I still can't get enough of how nightmarish some of the Beast-era Transformers could get, and Injector takes the cake. The hideous lionfish/hornet beast form and the fact his robot mode's jaws are actually the beast mode's jaws certainly make him one of the more freakish Transformers. I even re-read his bio to help get some ideas to channel some of his character properly - on top of being a rather lethal asset to the Preds, the ugly bugfish is extremely vain about himself. A fitting personality for a Predacon, but yeesh, look in a mirror, freakshow. The general shape of his head kinda makes him a bit Xenomorph-ish, and despite the toy’s being in a fixed position, I even tried to give the robot head a slight turn, akin to the Alien Queen’s head.

As for coloring, I more or less used my "crunch time" technique, though I did take some time to experiment a little bit with a gleam effect, making some of it purple instead of white on some areas; for example, the insect legs and robot arm are literally the same color swatch, but the color of the stroke (and even the stroke itself) can make a serious difference. I didn't necessarily HAVE to, but it looked more appealing this way.

I mean, heck, if I wanted to, I could go back and add white strokes on top of the purple, but...nah, I think it's all good.
