Here's the deal. I had a Miko craze going on. I decided to make two for the Arcana Heart Universe. This is the first of them.

• Biography: Teruko is one of the many ½ merfolk born to Junichiro and Palutena, coming 2 weeks after Suite was born, but 2 weeks before Chariklo was conceived. Growing up, she took interest in shrine maidens when she watched her older sisters Therese and Hiromi conduct such practices in their spare time. Teruko was welcomed to take part in the fun of the practices. In time, she became just as good at the rituals as they have, granting her a position among the mikos of the family. They were eventually joined by fellow ½ Mermaid Sumiko, who had trouble learning the ropes of being a Miko but got the hang of it soon enough. As Teruko went on about her duties, she spotted a katana laced with runes on it and picked it up, which made the blade unanimously accept her as its mistress. The only problem was: Teruko did not know how to properly handle a sword, so her eldest sister Misaki stepped in and taught her how to use the sword properly, and wisely. Teruko thus trained with her Swordmaster sister to learn how to fight using the katana she now possessed. However, in trying to copy Misaki’s way of fighting, she often ended up with painful counterstrikes, as well as an occasional blackeye. It was then that Teruko learned the arts of Kenjutsu, and mixed it with the art of Ninjutsu, but focusing mostly on the sword style, that Teruko managed to handle her new blade easily, in addition to getting lessons on how to handle the magic powers that also came with being a Miko. Once all that was said & done, it was decided that she travel to another universe to have a final exam to see just how much she learned. The universe of choice was the Arcana Heart Universe and Sumiko was taken with as well where they, along with their father, made friends with much of the cast there, but the easiest friendship came from the Kasuga Family (Of whom the family group met first) due to sharing interests in shrine maiden work, as well as possessing the ability to expel evil and demons from others. During her first visit, Teruko managed to pass her “final exam” with flying colors and was all set not just to travel with her father when the need arose, but also to partake in stopping any oncoming crises that would follow. As one might expect from anyone among Juni’s family, Teruko has inherited a good majority of her parents’ qualities, such as the caring and honorable nature of her father, as well as her mother’s kindness and playfulness. However, she can be headstrong at times, as during her training with Misaki, she constantly tried to fight her elder sister with her own fighting style, only to pay dearly with a multitude of injuries and receiving a chastising from Misaki. Nonetheless, Teruko has learned from this. Teruko loves a good mud bath and does not take too kindly to them being interrupted. She also greatly hates spoiled brats and was relieved to know that Petra did not fit the spoiled brat concept despite being one born of wealth. Makes the best Bento Box meals.
• Abilities: As a ½ mermaid, Teruko can take on her mermaid form when she enters any body of water. Although she has the power to decide when to take on this form, such as when she’s showering, it is not allowed to activate so as to avoid accidental injuries. Teruko is a talented Miko, able to perform successful rituals that dispel evil within the hearts of other people, family included. Her abilities expand beyond repelling demons as it also repels hostile undead, too thanks to her Ofudas being exceptionally well made and forged to do the job. Teruko has an affinity of the Arcana of Sun Apala. Combat wise, Teruko uses Holy magic, in addition to Shamanistic magic, the latter with proficiency in Fire, Water, Thunder, Wind, Earth, and Ice magic to name a few. When it comes to melee, Teruko is proficient with a sword, using a katana as her main means of close combat. The katana is lined with runes all across the blade and Teruko is capable of infusing these runes with her magic for devastating combos, as well as for her Special, Super and Critical attacks, respectively. When Teruko has Apala active, her speed gains a great increase and her combos can be chained nonstop. Even so, her magic power also doubles. They are as follows.
o Crystal Spike: Teruko makes a trail of water appear, and then makes the water freeze instantly, finishing with making ice crystals shoot up at her opponent.
o Volcano Breaker: Teruko slams her blade into the ground, splitting it open and making it erupt, sending lava bombs at, and around the opponent.
o Thunder Slicer: Teruko dashes at the opponent, sword in hand. Successful connection leads to a 7-hit combo that can seriously hurt.
o Holy Blade Storm: Teruko’s Super. She twirls about like a tornado, katana energized with light, then dashes about the field while spinning. May leave Teruko dizzy for a moment.
o Elemental Radiance: Teruko’s Critical Heart. She holds her katana up high above her head, empowering her katana with holy and nature magic before swinging it down. The result is a series of devastating sword beams of each element Teruko knows, properly combined with the Holy Light. Strong enough to put a dent in even Parace L’sia herself.
