Genies can be dicks sometimes. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have spent a lot of time thinking about how to avoid genies doing things like this.
(The ways that this differs from historic/religious views on djins, the origins of genies is a completely different matter. Though a lot of them were dicks too.)
