You did such a beautiful job on this! <3 Definitely my favorite movies when I was a kid, and now too. And also agree this was a super sad scene for me too ;_; The movie was beautiful, but also sad. It makes me think of the beautiful legends that have been told over countless generations of humanity, and both how much we have grown as well as how much we have lost in the process of getting where we are today.

I hope we can regain some of that which has been lost. <3

Oh! I love this so much! The Last Unicorn was my favourite movie as a child ... I used to save up whatever I earned doing chores then go to rent it at LEAST once a month! The art was so beautiful and the themes were absolutely moving, plus they used so many characters and themes from different cultures’ mythologies on top of the deep philosophical questions it brought up ... and the red bull was TERRIFYING!

I always felt bad for poor Lir.

I wrote a fanfiction alternate ending where Amalthea instead of turning back to a normal animal unicorn, she cries during her transformation as she is transformed into an anthro unicorn person instead and still has her dress on. Plus she has stronger powers than ever with her horn, she uses telekinetic powers on the bull to throw him into the sea while opening up a passage through the water like Moses did, by letting the other unicorns go. Plus she passionately kisses Lir bringing him back to life, Lir and Amalthea still love each other as he let's his real dad of Hagsgate be king as Lir and Amalthea get wedded by Schmendrick as anthro Amalthea and her human lover Lir return back to her forest.

And back in her forest, there's a house that belong to a former wizard before he left and they live there to be king and queen of the forest as he has also been blessed with immortality by Amalthea as he's an immortal human and she's a unicorn anthro person who's a new species of person and unicorn. Plus they have 2 babies who look just like her in the end.
