The iconic grille leaves no doubt that we are looking at an Edsel, a 1958 Pacer to be exact. Yeah, so what if it says “Edsel” right on it? The other defining characteristic is the push-button transmission. But that is the subject of a future photo.

Honestly I miss the older cars, the style, look, feel of them. My first car was a 1973 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Had the 5MPH safety bumpers that meant you could accidentally back up into or love tap in front of you and do NOTHING to either car. Todays cars you sneeze on a car and its $1000 damage. I had a couple years ago a lady back up and take off the drivers mirror on my car, $2600 damage!
My first day of driving I got rear ended in my Olds, I was at a traffic light waiting to make a left turn when some girl putting on make-up rear ended me with her Honda Civic. It literally shoved her engine into the passenger compartment and left powdered glass all over my trunk and a couple divots in the rubber strip on my bumper. She hit me at 25MPH! Shoved my car into the intersection and what was best, directly in front of a motorcycle cop waiting for the light to change. The cop shook his head that there was literally no real damage to my car while hers was totalled. (She was also cited for inattentive driving!)
That Olds would later take out two more Toyotas, another Honda and a Saab over the years. The Saab actually slightly bent the bumper and I would have to change the safety shocks.

A buddy of mine still daily drives his beat up 1960 Chevy pick up his parents bought new. The type where you physically can climb INTO the engine compartment and actually work on the engine. None of this where you need a college degree just to pop the hood to look inside bullcrap and $300 sensors or $750 water pumps with $25 tire inflation sensors. And you need an engineering degree to figure out the electronics.
