Just to prove that I can write things of a reasonably listenable length sometimes, this is a song that I wrote in one day after playing too much Dark Chronicle near the end of 2003.
To be honest, the lack of time spent on it shows a bit - one of the most obvious areas is that I accidentally used one of the older guitar instruments in my folder at first. I was going to change it, but after switching the samples around, I decided that the one I was using worked much better. As a result it has a lighter sound than normal (much like Devils and Angels before it).
I also experimented here with the idea of a "borrowed" instrumental. The one in this song is "The Lord of the Dance", which I had been wanting to try converting in to my song style for a while, and it was also appropriate to the song's theme.
I was going to have a screenshot from the relevant chapter of the game as the icon, but all of the ones I found involved Monica in a bikini instead.
[Lyrics]
Look at the stars on a moonlit night
You'll see me, I'm your guiding light
Dead now for years, but still I'm here
I'll watch over you, so have no fear
(Look up to the stars and you'll see)
From up above I am watching you
Out in the heavens somewhere
I'm close to you, though I seem so far
The sage who became a star
Now that I'm gone, don't you cry for me
I want you to carry on, and you'll see
Fulfil my dream, show me that you care
To protect those around just by being there
(Look up to the stars and you'll see)
Out in the heavens I'm watching you
From my place so far above
I'm close to you, though I seem so far
The sage who became a star
[Instrumental - Lord of the Dance]
Out in the heavens I'm watching you
From my place so far above
I'll live in you as you live in me
I'm the sage who became a star
From up above I am watching you
Out in the heavens somewhere
I'm close to you, though I seem so far
The sage who became a star
I'm close to you, though I seem so far
I'm the sage who became a star
