Yeah, but the mewtwo is more to blame for this. However, the lone floater in front seemed to have accepted its fate.

Interesting idea, I heard once that Ditto's were supposedly the first failed attempts to clone Mew, so Mewtwo is actually consuming his genetic relations in this case.

I heard the same and planned on having the setting be the place mewtwo was made, but forgot what it exactly was.

In the games (and I think implied in the movie) it was the lab on Cinnabar island. At least in the original Gen 1 Pokemon games.
