New year, new fursona! I wanted this to be my first post of the year, but don't fret, that doesn't mean I'm replacing Tama! While Tama represents my fluidity regarding my gender (since he's a shapeshifter like every kitsune), throughout the last year, I felt like I wanted representation to my female side too, akin to my biological gender.
Malaika (Maika, for the close ones) was in my ideas for a while but I couldn't properly sit and work on her. After I stumbled upon this adopt by Selles , which looked almost exactly like I wanted her to be, I decided to finally go on with it! :3 I made some small tweaks and redrew her on top of LockworkOrange 's base, which was used for the original adopt design.
I wanted her to physically look more like me, so she's rather chubby in comparison to Tama's elegant and slim body, because everything but my belly looks like a thin person's hahaha No uncensored version is available to public since this is rather personal due to how similar I drew her body to mine, and the character on the censors is

All my sonas are LGBT+ of course, but I feel like I can relate to her the most from irl experiences, so I'm very happy with her! Also, a lioness with pride is a very nice pun, isn't it. 👀

Actually it's not a tattoo, it's a marking on her fur, more like a birthmark ^^ Malaika means "angel" in swahili, and there's a love song with the same name which's very famous in swahili culture, so I wanted a marking resembling angel wings. Not only I like things related to angels, I also thought a reference to a love song would be lovely.

Hehe, thank you! Lions are mostly found in african and asian territories, and I think african culture is ridiculously beautiful, so I sought inspiration on that ^^
It's a bit hard to get this type of lore for Pokémon, but since Espeon are gen II's Pokémon, inspiration from the Johto region could be drawn imo. That's what I did with Hanabi and his family, since they're all based in Ecruteak!

I do when I create a character's design for a customer, but haven't received a commission request for background story only. I wouldn't think it's fair to charge such a thing though, because I can do that quite easily and wouldn't know how much to charge as to be fair with the customer without underselling myself :'3
