For those who have never seen a Harrier fly before, let me explain the title of this submission. You have this large aircraft coming in..then it gets slower and slower until it finally stops and hovers right in front of you. The plane backs up, flies side-to-side, spins around, and goes up and down...watching it, it really is like a slow, smooth dance, while keeping the aircraft steady in the steps is a very delicate operation. Hovering and maneuvering a harrier like this has been likened to ball balancing. This routine would almost be serene to watch if it wasn't for the fact that the harrier is unbelievably loud, and as it hovers it produces a constant, mind-jostling, ear-piercing scream.
