The airbag in my mom's van during my recent accident saved my life. You can get a new car, but a new face or life is trickier.

Very true. They do save lives but replacing them are a pain.

That's odd. Usually they are made as modular. Just pop the old one out and pop the new one in. Though they may grill you on the charges.

They may be modular but it takes a trained tech to replace one and a new air bag module ic between $750 and $3000.

And if you get a half assed tech to replace the air bags they may not go off or go off without even being in an accident.

The damage was more than the car was worth....they said if it wasn't for the airbags and have to replace the module to fix the air bags it would of been fixable. Because there wasn't much damage on the outside of the front of my car..and the frame was only bent a little.

Like I said previously.. I was also in a car accident recently. Just your reaction makes me think, "Wasnt for the airbags, my car would be fixable, but my neck and face on the other hand.. Not so much." =/

I was fine I was wearing a seat belt my sister wasn't. I meant for if it wasn't for the airbags deployed my car would of been fixable.

With the vilocity of your head movement foward.. Oh forget it. Seatbelt only does half the job. The airbag is the other half.

Yeah it wasn't pleasant getting hit in the face from an airbag when I had my glasses on. Good thing my glasses are unbreakable most of the time I usually wear contacts. I was able to walk away with just a booboo on my right leg and a bruise on my other one.

I slammed on my breaks real fast, it felt like I hit the person really hard, but I really didn't I still really don't know what speed I was going. The lady had no damage to her car.

Your airbags deployed! Ouch!! I've experienced an airbag to the face on more than once occasion and it's never pleasant. If it didn't cost a grand each to have them repacked, your Mustang wouldn't have been totaled, I bet. = (

Yeah that's what they said if it wasn't for the airbags and the module for the air bags my car would of been fixable. And yes an air bag to the face with glasses on was not pleasant.

One time I braced myself by holding my arm in front of me, I fractured my wrist on the airbag...

I usually wear contacts, but that day I was wearing my glasses. Because I have to get up and go to school so early on Monday and Wednesdays I just don't bother putting them in most of the time.
