A commissioned pro piece I finished recently. Stuff like this really drives the point home that portraits and caricature is not my strong suit. (took at least three tries to draw something that looked more like Bill Gates and less like Jerry Springer)
Interesting that "human" is listed in the submission themes, but not the species options.

I'm a Mac user, and I agree that the commercials are fairly eye-roll inducing for anybody that isn't a hardcore Mac fan. However, they can be pretty funny if you just take them at face value, and comedy sells. Comedy actually sells better than sex. Yeah, it's a blatant, shameless smear campaign, but it's funny so it works.
Yeah, everyone wants to cheap-shot Microsoft, so we all laugh at the "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac' commercials.
Besides, it's hard to describe features, because all systems pretty much do the same thing when they're running stable. So the Mac has every file 'forked' into two, with one leg being the file itself, and the other leg holding the metadata on the file. How do you use that to convince people to choose a mac over a PC. All platforms now have the same apps even, or comparable apps, so you can't point to your killer app for graphic design, since every system has something that does the same thin, or close enough to make no difference.
Every system will play movies, crunch spreadsheets, play games, and brows the web, so the only selling point is stability vs new bells and whistles.
Speaking of the "I'm a Mac, 'm a PC" commercial, didn't somebody do an 'I'm a PC. I'm a Mac. I'm an Amiga" commercial?

Haha! I love the PC wretching on the floor after the virus cake.
There's really no way to judge these things anymore. But what really bothers me about what Apple's doing is not the degradation of Windows, but how it clumps together everything related to the PC under Windows' umbrella. I mean, the Mac is a PC for Christ's sake. And this leads to things like my friend defaming all of PCdom because the $500 Gateway she bought kept having malfunctioning hardware. Now she wants to buy a Mac, not quite realizing that there's a difference between a $500 Gateway and a $2000 Mac having to do with neither Gateway or Mac. Hell, there's a difference between a $500 Gateway and a $500 Toshiba. But now she looks at her flimsy Gateway installed with Vista (when it was more intended for Win2000) and declares a war on PCs.

I can't really say it as eloquently (and I didn't even understand the whole bit about "legs"), but I get what you mean. It all pretty much comes down to personal preference, so that's the only weapon the computer companies have anymore; sway personal opinion to your favor.
Amazing. Considering that Mac OS 9, that bootscreen, and the concept of forked files died in 2000, I would like to formally welcome you to the third millenium. You'll find that your seat cushion can be a handy floatation device in case of MySpace.

Ive been a Windows user since i was 3 and have grown into my shackles of Microsoft, sadly finding them lightweight till I discovered Linux, in which the shackles were removed from time to time, but then heavier sets were put on as I got a 360..and then another...and another...and a 4th...each draining away my lifeforce. Bill Gates owns the world or at least can place the higest bid at any time and we all come with the package deal. I want to get a PS3 now so I can enjoy the freedom of the heavy title that is Microsoft. Sad that the 360 tries to own my life and Linux makes me happy, but I grew up with Windows. Ubuntu is great, but its different. The latest version killed my ability to play games till the next updates to be released and logging into XP feels like a foreboding dread, but Ill have to use it if Im to 'enjoy' any gaming experience. Im a tool. Im a slave. Im a pc.
Yeah, but then in order to live or vacation there, you'd have to wait for the trickle down of patches updates and service packs, plus if you didn't have the Genuine Jamaica Advantage, you'd have to deal with a crappy little graphic floating on your screen reminding you of it.
Windows 7, several of my friends that never have a good thing to say about windows actualy like this version...
Still, its all looking very eyecandyish to me... some of us like a simple, crisp interface like we had back in the day with Workbench, right Eric?
And while I can definatly see Bill, I dunno, I kinda see a little of Dan Aykroyd in there too, anyone else see him?

Awesome pic, especially for having to do a caricature.
Now you just have to forever watch your back. Bill Gates' all seeing all knowing eye in the sky has clearly seen this now. and will be hunting you down to torture information outta you... and get witty pictures drawn FOR FREE! *Gasp*

Vista was the operating system that finally made me bite the bullet and give MacOS a look. First time I've actually enjoyed using a computer since the good old dies of my dear departed A1200. Back in the days before OSX the Mac's system software sucked, but the current versions feel a lot more Amiga-like, and this makes me happy. Win 7 looks like an improvement, but I'll stick with my Mac now, thanks.
I've got no strong loyalties either, except to Amiga and MorphOS (but I can't really recommend either to anyone other than retro and alternative system enthusiasts). I have Mac and Linux systems (a nice lightweight distro called Puppy). Haven't had much positive experience with Windows, but I haven't messed with anything newer than XP either. Experience has shown me it's all mostly down to personal requirements and preferences anymore. However putting the window close button on the top-right corner is 'tarded.
I love the pic but I can't say that Windows 7 is all that bad. In fact I have been beta testing it for around six months and I have no complaints. All I can say is that it is very fast, stable and reliable. I think Microsoft got it right for the first time. It actually works out of the box without having to install a list of drivers a updates that is a mile long before it works right.
