The problem for me is to commit and go with something... As soon as I have done a sketch, I come to a screeching halt. What now?

I get so many ideas but they never even get past a circle.
I've been drawing quick things for so long that I can't even begin to spend time on a good one. it's pitiful.

I can see the problem for you, that must be annoying. :/

Maybe I just had a lucky streak? To just start, go with the first sketch, be satisfied with it and then instantly ink it and color it.
I used too feel that coloring was the most fun part. That's why I'm so frustrated that I can't get started with it.

Random doodles are otherwise a good way of getting going. But even that doesn't seem to work.

And BTW, had a look at your gallery. You are way better then I was when I was 16. When I was at your age, I still hadn't masterd the stick figure. Just keep at it, and you'll get there! :P

The only reasons I can ever draw anything is because if I think the sketch looks good I'll just go with that and finish it up. I suppose it's all about trusting yourself to move on from there.
And I'm just an overachiever of an artist, I'll not be happy with myself until I'm amazing. =P

You should start a think tank, like in a journal, where you let people contribute tidbits to an infant idea and develop it into a premise.

That actually sounds like a good idea.

I created one for novel premises. No one has contributed yet...

Though I can sympathize somewhat. I have a bazillion ideas in my head, but transferring them into a final product
is somewhat daunting. Keep on sketching though, that's how ideas are born :)
