So Yoshi... they are definitely a varied race what with their colors, shapes, sizes, traits, abilities, moralities, and general preference in diets
The most unorthodox differences outside of their acid spitting brethren and a rumor of one mixed with Koopa kin though quickly silenced bye their proud medical officials as a quote "stain to such a proud and powerful race" we would like to believe they meant for the Yoshi, but we highly doubt it.
Anyways, the most unorthodox difference though seems to be their differences in how they change when they either adapt into a clan based lifestyle of peaceful coexistence and when they seem to separate into single packs or groups.
This difference is so substantial that the races needed to be separated bye a general name type because of great their deviation is.
These names are as such:
Clankin:
The clan based Yoshi kin are quite sociable, kindhearted, accepting for the most part, though a race that prefers solitude overall for their clan, seemingly a sign of a nomadic and proud race. They have a more recent development though of seemingly accepting orphans into their clan from other species entirely, treating them with a high level of respect, kindness, and generally seem to accept them as family.
This clankin Yoshi will actively perform their assigned duties of: hunting, foraging, crafting, child care, reinforcing their home unless they take to leaving due to natural disasters, no food in the area, or are threatened bye creatures that would endanger their young.
Some of these Yoshi have even been seen fishing, farming, and even potentially domesticating wildlife. This is certainly an interesting development for this species as it shows a sign of higher learning that other species have long since associated as an impossibility for the race.
That being said, there was a reason for that...
Feral:
This dubious subspecies of Yoshi seems to be a long term development from a rare activity that Yoshi only ever delved into in their earlier state:exile. This subspecies seems to have slowly evolved over time from their seperation from the clan, developing large fangs, thick scaled hide, sharp horns, more muscled up physique, a regression back to claws, and the often cutest part of the Yoshi kin being changed too, their large nose. Reshaped into a more snout like shape that befits a more bestial version of the creature.
They exhibit some rather nasty behavior that we have sited in our field note but the largest details being this:
Diet change: Feral Yoshi will actively consume more meat than clan based yoshi, eating as much as they can to satiate a more protein driven lifestyle
Society: They live mostly alone or in small groups of at most recorded, 4 any more sightings have yet to be proven, as well as the person whom who made the claim ever being heard from again.
Child care: They exhibit an abusive, manipulative, or at least, un involved lifestyle to their young, seemingly abandoning them as they had been abandoned. Some documented cases have shown a very very rare case of some signs of familial attachment in the form of protection from predators, general care when they are freshly hatched till 3 weeks old, and a rare case of a hidden affection where a parent whom shows more love for their child, seems to hide it and wait till they are alone to exhibit this behavior, though we are not entirely sure if it can be trusted due to the same isolation being used for exile, abuse, and also consumption in winter...
To those wondering, yes, I did reuse my photo pooper snoofers headshot of YoYo with edits as it certainly felt like a great reference and perfect for what I had planned for this field note
